Commitment to Safety

The health and safety of every camper and staff member is a priority to us. We work alongside parents and leadership staff to ensure each camper's special health care needs are met. A nurse either is on site daily or is on call by phone to oversee health concerns. Our kitchen staff prepares healthy meals and snacks (and received a score of 100 from the State Health Department), and all staff and counselors are certified in CPR, First Aid, and some are certified Lifeguards and Wilderness First Aid providers.

All our staff also undergo criminal background checks, an application process and training sessions which include two weeks of training in safety procedures and child care policies.

Several of our staff have received intense training on our climbing tower and undergo continual evaluations from our leadership instructors.  In addition, several of our staff have received advanced training in regard to the canoe trips, search and rescue, and outdoor leadership.
