camp Director- Rev. Nathan Dugger

The Holston Conference is pleased to announce that Nathan Dugger has been appointed as the next Director of Camp Bays Mountain.

After 11 years of faithful service, Jeff Wadley will be retiring effective March 31. We are deeply grateful for Jeff’s leadership and the many ways his ministry has shaped Camp Bays Mountain and the lives of countless campers, families, and churches across the conference.

Nathan brings a strong foundation in ministry leadership, organizational management, and relational leadership that will serve Camp Bays Mountain well in this next season. His experience includes leading ministry teams, providing leadership in environments where children, youth, and families are central, and managing complex systems with both pastoral sensitivity and operational clarity. These gifts align closely with the responsibilities of camp leadership and the evolving needs of our churches.

Nathan has already begun preparing for this role by engaging deeply with the Kaleidoscope Consulting report and familiarizing himself with American Camp Association standards, demonstrating a proactive and thoughtful approach to leadership and excellence in camp ministry.

The Conference has developed an intentional transition and overlap plan to ensure continuity and the faithful transfer of institutional knowledge. Nathan will work closely with Jeff and the staff, as well as conference leadership, during this season so that relationships, systems, culture, and institutional wisdom are carried forward with care and integrity. This approach honors the legacy of Camp Bays Mountain's leadership while positioning the camp for long-term strength and stability.

We want to reassure churches, families, and campers across the Holston Conference that Camp Bays Mountain remains a trusted, vibrant, and mission-centered ministry. This transition has been approached prayerfully and deliberately, and we are confident in Nathan’s leadership as Camp Bays Mountain continues to serve as a sacred place of formation, rest, and transformation for all ages.

If you have questions related to this transition, please contact Whitney Winston: whitney@holstoncamps.org

We give thanks for the faithful leadership that has shaped Camp Bays Mountain to this point, and we look forward with hope to the future God is unfolding through this ministry.
